As part of the pre-incubation phase of the Projet d'Amélioration des Services Ruraux au Tchad par le Développement de l'Agri Entrepreneuriat : Phase Pilote, we organized a series of training workshops on business fundamentals and entrepreneurship in Mayo Kebbi Est and Logone Oriental from March 28 to April 02, 2023.
The module "Becoming a rural entrepreneur" was developed during these training days in the localities and enabled producers to :
- Understanding entrepreneurship and its basic concepts
- Strengthen producers' personal skills and qualities for successful entrepreneurship (rural)
- Inform and raise awareness among agricultural producers about what to know and what to avoid when setting up a business
- Understand the business environment and the opportunities it offers
The content of this training course has been developed taking into account the results of the diagnosis of support needs organized at the launch of the project last February, and will reinforce the vision that producers have of their income-generating activities (IGAs), enabling them to carry out these IGAs with a truly entrepreneurial approach for greater productivity.
The project aims to strengthen the resilience of rural producers by diversifying their sources of income. In concrete terms, the project will support 100 rural producers in the creation/structuring and management of agricultural and non-agricultural micro-businesses in the target provinces of Logone Oriental and Mayo Kebbi Est.
