Completion of leadership and personal development training for producers in Logone Oriental.

These training workshops are part of the activities of the pre-incubation phase of the Projet d'Amélioration des Services Ruraux au Tchad par le Développement de l'Agri Entrepreneuriat : Phase Pilote. They took place from March 20 to 23, 2023 in Doba, Bodo, Bedjal and Takapte, and brought together 105 rural producers admitted to the project's pre-incubation phase.

Experience has shown that coaching that focuses solely on the development of the company, without investing in the person who carries the company's vision, is ineffective and fails to ensure the company's sustainable growth. Working on the person who carries the company's vision, and on his or her personal development, will enable that person to reach his or her full potential, and the company will have every chance of becoming a sustainable business.

To lay solid foundations for the project to support rural producers in Logone Oriental, we organized training workshops on leadership and personal development for producers, enabling them to lead their entrepreneurial initiatives with vision, passion and strategy.

The modules developed during these four days of training enabled producers to

  • Discover themselves and their potential
  • Challenge themselves and exploit their potential to develop their entrepreneurial activities
  • Define visions for their companies, set SMART objectives and give themselves the means to achieve these objectives.

Personal development tools have been made available to all growers, and entrepreneurship facilitators will use these tools to monitor growers' growth throughout the pre-incubation phase. Of the 105 producers supported in the pre-incubation phase, 50 will be selected for the incubation phase, which will last 6 months.

The Projet d'Amélioration des Services Ruraux au Tchad par le Développement de l'Agri Entrepreneuriat : Phase Pilote is one of the initiatives of the landscape platform initiated by IDH and Cotontchad, and supported by several civil society organizations, the private sector and state institutions.
