About Company
The United Nations (UN) is an international organization founded in 1945. Currently composed of 193 member states, the UN and its work are guided by the purposes and principles contained in its founding Charter. Comprising numerous funds, programs and specialized agencies, each with its own area of work, leadership and budget. The UN coordinates its work with these distinct entities of the UN system, which cooperate with the Organization to help it achieve its goals. The UN has evolved over the years to grow, help and keep pace with a rapidly changing world. But one thing has remained the same: it remains the only place on Earth where all the nations of the world can come together, discuss common problems and find common solutions that benefit all mankind. Since the UN was founded in 1945, its mission and work have been guided by the purposes and principles contained in its founding Charter, which has been amended three times. The United Nations Secretariat carries out the day-to-day work of the UN as mandated by the General Assembly and the other principal organs of the Organization. The Secretary-General is the head of the Secretariat, which comprises tens of thousands of UN staff working in duty stations around the world. UN staff members are regularly recruited internationally and locally, and work in duty stations and peacekeeping missions as UN diplomats. Since the creation of the UN, hundreds of courageous men and women have given their lives for the excellence of its service. Join us today and change your global status to that of a UN diplomat.
